Scatter-Brain Saturdays

This is a completely RANDOM posts of all sorts of things!!!
Now, that school is back in session for mom, Saturdays will become the days that Kylee and I get to hang out with her, and cram all of the fun/maybe not so fun projects that we (or I) come up with during the week!!
I found these applique witch boots on etsy.com, and thought they would be cute on a shirt for Kylee.

Then, I saw this shirt in a magazine, and I thought maybe mom could add longer legs and a skirt to make the body go up the shirt like this. So, of course, mom said she would try. Also, I think Kylee is going to be a Bumble Bee for Halloween, so I am making a black/yellow tutu for her to wear with her striped leggings.

And, according to Brianne, who is even thinking about Halloween right now, but I have a reason....I had a coupon at Sears for a Free halloween collage/session, so I thought I would take Kylee, at the beginning of October, which is just really a month away. :)

On to more urgent projects......Kylee is having her 1 year pictures taken on Tuesday, and I was wanting her to have a cupcake shirt to wear with the pettiskirt, so of course, you guessed it, mom whipped ir right out.....it really took her longer than she thought it would but she finished it today.

And, another project that was mom's idea not MINE. She wanted to make Kylee a cheerleading outfit to wear this year, so she is working on that as well......well not really because NO fabric has even been cut for it, and Wall's homecoming is in 2 weeks.

Since, I told you this was a random post, we found a wagon with a door on it for her birthday, so yeah that is taken care of. Thanks for all the birthday suggestions!!

We are headed to the lake this afternoon...Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!!

bloom

Our crate myrtle in the front is blooming.....not because we have a green thumb....in fact, it is quite the opposite. You see, I one day want to have a beautiful yard, but for now, I have to settle with buying ALOT of really pretty blooming plants, and then bring them home, and Jason has to get on to me for not watering them. Anyways, somehow we have managed to keep most of the plants that we started with this summer ALIVE.

Sitting outside the other morning looking at this tree, made me think of that saying, "bloom where you are planted." Life is not always just peachy, in fact, it can be quite the opposite at times. It seems there is always something/someone to worry about. Bro. Bob's last sermon on Sunday, was about contentment, and it really challenged me to be exactly that...to be content.
Sometimes I catch myself saying, "If Kylee was older we could do this....", or "If I was still teaching, oh that would be fun....." or "Wouldn't it be to nice to have that beautiful yard, like our neighbors up the road.....", or "go on an fancy vacation every summer".
Why can't I just be happy and CONTENT with were we are in our life right now....Be content with Kylee and enjoy her age right NOW instead of wishing for something else.....Be content with staying home.....Be content with were we live and the things we are blessed with!!

So there you have it, I choose to be content!! I wish it were that easy, but I am working on it. :)

I'm Running out of TIME....

What did you get your kid for their 1st birthday?? Kylee's is approaching quickly, and Brianne keeps warning me that if I have to order off the internet, I better do it quick. So, I am needing your help. What did you get your kid? I don't want something she'll out grow real fast, but also something she can use.
I thought about something like this. But then by winter, I guess we could move it indoors. I don't know.
Or I t hought about something she can ride on. She loves the bikes at my parents. But her legs are pretty short to push them.

Let me know cause I'm Running out of TIME.

11 Months

Oh, my, in a month my baby will be ONE YEAR OLD!! How is that possible!! I thank the Lord for the past 11 months; we are so blessed; so many are not allowed even 11 months with their child.

So what are we up to at 11 Months. Here is a run down:

- Climbs on everything.

- Points at things she wants, and adds a little "eehhh" (really it sounds like she is whining all day, but she doesn't know how to talk yet, so we will deal with the whining later)
- Naps twice a day
- Goes to bed around 9, and sleeps until around 8
- Likes to eat, and wants whatever you have
- Still likes her pacifier ALOT, and would really prefer to carry one around as well
- Knows what her "baby" is
- Loves to run around naked after her bath every night for about 20 minutes. Jason calls her "Naked Pete"
- Can give hugs and kisses
- Says mama, dada, bye-bye, and aya - aya (outside)
- Stands at the back door and "eeehhhh" because she wants to go outside
- Sits in her rocking chair
- Nurses 3 times a day
- Has 7 teeth
- Plays Peek-a-Boo

Also, here is a picture of the kids with Bobby and Colleene. We just fell in love with them from the beginning; they were are interim pastor, but now we have a new pastor, but really, really didn't want to let them two go!! And they just adopted our kids as their "grandkids", that is why we called him Bobby. :) Great memories!!

GIDDY!!

This picture makes me GIDDY inside for two reasons.
Reason #1
Look at her hair CURLING over her ear!!! I know. And if you look closely you can see it does have a lot of body in the back!! When it is wet or humid, it curls in the back!!! How exciting is that!! My Dad had lots of curly, brown hair when he was a toddler; needless to say he is beside himself that she might have curly, brown hair!!!
Reason #2
She is not laying her head back; she likes to look up and out of the side windows. And she enjoys playing with her toys in the car. I can't believe we are to this stage. She is such a big girl, and the time is going so fast, and I can't slow it down!!! She'll be so happy when we move to the big carseat!!
Speaking of toddler carseats, any suggestions. I have been looking around at Target and Walmart, but haven't decided on one!! Let me know what you use!!
And be sure to check out the BIGGEST LOSER post under here!!

The Biggest Loser

Season Premiere September 15th

And Why do you care???

Well, we know someone going to be on the show starting this fall!!!

Yep!! Someone for you to root for to the end!!!

My Mom's cousin who lives in Mabank, TX, their daughter made the show!!
Her name is Abby Rike, and she lost her whole family in a car wreck!! A very touching story!!
I have thought about her a lot over the past years; I went with my parents and visited them one summer. I can't imagine what she feels and what she has gone through!! But don't just root for her because of that....root for her because she is such an amazing woman and is an inspirtation to us all!!
You can check her out on this website. She is wearing a green tank top and has her hands under her chin in one picture!! If you click on that picture, she is in a video as well talking about her story!!
Go Abby Go!!

Teethy Tuesday

Thanks to everyone who left me Facebook message, texted me, called me, or blogged me wishing me a Happy Birthday.
Back to Reality for Kylee and me --> Mom went back to school yesterday :(
About the MOPS program at Glen Meadows, you do not have to be members at the church to join. Paul Ann is also offering one. It meets every Monday. Glen Meadows meets every other Friday.
I thought this picture captured Kylee's 4 front teeth. She does have one more, but it is way in the back.
And sorry to bore you again with Kylees' tricks. But this is what she did while we were eating supper the other night. And the next time I looked up, she was all the way down and the stool wasn't turned over or anything. :) I don't know how she got off.

25 Years ago today....

Just Kidding!! But today is my 25th birthday. Mama will surely start out the story of my birth with, "25 Years ago today..."!! :) I love it when she does that!! Isn't that what Mom's are supposed to do!!

Anyways, Jason completely surprised me with this when I came home from eating lunch with some friends on Saturday.

He actually went to town by himself. He went to the Carriage, then to Family Christian, and then I think he probably stopped by Patti's Party to get the balloons and banner!! He didn't know where Carriage was or Myer's Drug (To get Vera Bradley stuff), so he called his mom and she helped him. I did get this book, and a really nice card, and some cash to buy a purse. Thanks to a great Husband!!

I also better not fail to mention another person's birthday....Yes, we share birthdays!! Happy Birthday, brother-in-law, Duane!!!

MOPS

No, I'm not talking about mops you clean your floor with. Although, I do like my Swiffer alot in the picture with Kylee. It seems to do the job just as well as the OLD bucket of soap and water would do, even though it doesn't take as good of a picture!!

I am interested in joining the Mothers Of Preschoolers at Glen Meadows this September. Does anyone know anything about it, ever been in a MOPS group before, or maybe would like to join with me?

I know Glen Meadows meets 2 Fridays a month, and you don't have to have a "Preschooler" because obviously I don't. I had a friend who was in it, and really liked it. Let me know what you've heard!!

She has more TRICKS up, you know where.....

Her Sleeve!!! :)
Yes, Kylee has more tricks up her sleeve. If you can believe it!!

Her latest is this!! Climbing into her little grocery cart. Yes, she does rarely use it for it's intended purpose, which would be to push it around.
She loves climbing into it, and sitting there for a little bit, then standing up in it, and she is so PROUD of herself for accomplishing this giant feat!!!
And the best part is, no help needed. I will come in the room, and there she is sitting pretty in the grocery cart!!

Also, it seemed that everyone in my family had an OPINION about when I should start the weaning process (mainly Mom and Jason). No, Jason really didn't care, he just couldn't believe we will still feeding 4 times a day.

And Ihad noticed it was more of a struggle to get her to eat at the 4 feedings just because she was not hungry enough, so she wouldn't eat!! So, after discussing it with my close confidant (aka...Brianne), Monday morning, I decided it was a good day to start, so now we are only nursing 3 times a day. Cut out the noon feeding. Haven't felt the effects YET, just knowing it will catch up any day now. :)

I am making a banner for Kylee's Birthday Party, and working on some invitations for them. I know it is still over a month away, but saying I am excited about it, well that would be an understatement. I'll post pictures of the banner when done. It is made out of scrapbook paper and tied with cute ribbons.

Also, mom and I are making quite a few of the Taggie blankets you see around. They are turning out really cute, which is good because I know lots of girls pregnant!! YEAH!!

Small Update before a BIG weekend!!

Hello!! I thought I would give a random update before the weekend!!
Mom, Kylee, and I went to Kerrville yesterday to a fabric store called, Creations. They had like 7 or 8 rooms of fabric floor to ceiling; it was really fun. We were in there for about 2 hours, so after about the first 30 minutes Kylee was tired of it, so imagine trying to keep her happy for the rest of the time. :) But we did find some good fabrics, and I will update as we make some projects with them.
I have a hair appointment today. I think I am just going to get it highlighted, not cut. I am trying to grow it out for the fall.
Tomorrow is a very busy day for us. We are taking pictures in the morning. My Grandmother was the 4 Great-Grandkids picture with her. Then we are eating lunch for my aun'ts birthday. Then we are headed to Robert Lee for a swim/birthday party. Then in the afternoon Jason, and the rest of the Pastor Search Committee are meeting with our "prospective pastor.", then we are taking them out to eat tomorrow night.
So we have a busy day.
Then on Sunday, we hear the preacher preach, and then God-Willing we will call him to be our new pastor. Pray it all works according to His Will!!!
Here are some random pictures of Kylee over the past couple of weeks!!
If you look closely you can see 2 bottom teeth!!

Kylee was pictured in the Snapshot section of the August issue, of San Angelo Family Magazine. Whenever your out and about grab one, and check her out. They have them at Walmart, Target, HealthClub, and a lot of the fast food places, and all the DR offices.

OR you could just go here, http://www.sanangelofamilymagazine.com/, and click "Read Current Issue". Warning it takes a long time to load; unless you have super fast internet, which we do not have.
OR you could just scroll down because I scanned them in just for YOU!!!
Her caption says: "TU TU CUTE!!"

She is also in COLOR on the calendar page, 16. (Bottom Left side)
