Her Giraffe!!

Maggie and her Giraffe!! How did my baby get so big??!

I started thinking the other day, I see less and less "baby" stuff around our house!! :(

Seven

It's been 7 years since we said "I do."

Photo: 7 years ago everyone said we couldn't stop smiling at each other!! Thankful we are still smiling at each other!! Praying for many more together!! Happy anniversary to my one and only!!!

I got a new pair of shoes!!

And Jason got nothing,
but that makes him happy too!!!

Thankful for him, and blessed to spend this life with him!!

Redresser Redo

After finally convincing Jason to even get the dresser out of the barn, I had a really good time refinishing it!! My grandmother gave this to me when we first got married, and we haven't used it in nearly 5 years.

After Jaxon climbed on top of Kylee's white dresser, it came tumbling to the ground, and breaking things that were on top of it. So, the drawers were broken too.

I wanted to re-stain it darker, so I had to sand it.  It had a pretty heavy coat of the shiny clear stuff on it.

I used 100 grit sand paper for all of it, but I was changing papers out A LOT.  It probably would have gone faster with 60 or 80 grit, but we didn't have any, and I was to impatient. :)

Sanding the drawers and around all the drawers was the most tedious part. It probably was close to 5 hours of just sanding, which I did over 2 days.

I bought new hardware from Lowes, which was basically the only expensive for the dresser.  I thought about spray painting the old with the antique bronze, but I wanted some of those dome shaped looking handles!! :)

On the 3rd day, I used Minwax Dark Walnut stain and applied it with a sock.  I only had to do one coat.  Then I finished it with a Minwax Finishing Wax.  It has a really nice finish.

I am happy how it turned out!!

Bikes are Back!!

Both of the big kids bikes had flat tires that needed Daddy's help.  So we finally got them fixed on Friday and have been taking walks and bike rides in the evenings.  Saturday night we stomped in the mud puddles, and then went straight to the bath!!

We had a great Father's Day weekend celebrating our dads!! So blessed!!

Saturday

I ran, without my running buddy :(, at the Flippin' Sweet 5K Saturday morning.  It was really muddy, but glad I did it!! I got a cool t-shirt too!! Kylee thinks she wants to run in the one mile fun run.  She can not even jog down the road very far; I guess you have to start somewhere.

Jason got  his Father's Day gift a day early, of course; Kylee can hardly contain herself when it comes to gift giving!!

I made an apple pie for him too, which we ate a bunch of!! :)

It was the first time I used my little zipper pie maker thing.  It is in the bottom middle picture.  It worked amazing.  Jason's Mom got it in town somewhere, and now, I love it.  You just unzip, flour the sides, put your dough in it, zip it up, and then use your rolling pin to roll it out.

So blessed, to have Jason in our lives, and also my Daddy.  God willing, we will enjoy a great day together tomorrow!!

Red, White, & Blue.... Through & Through

Got crafty, with a few red, white, and blue projects, I saw on pinterest!!

Kind of went over board!!

Pillow I made out of canvas; just painted it on, and then washed it with a little bleach, and sewed it!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the burlap banner!!!

And can't have the 4th without the burlap door hanger!!

I made a pumpkin one too, while I was at it; found some orange burlap for $2.56 at Hobby Lobby!! Will post more projects soon!!

God Bless America!!

Makeup

Kylee found some glittery eye shadow and wanted to wear it the other night before we went to town.  Of course she complained that you could barely see it, but it still looked pretty.  And she got to use a little blush too!!

Yogurt Place and More

When summer starts, I usually go into this mode where I hang out way to much and neglect my duties of going grocery shopping, and for that matter, I don't even come to town.  Another reason for this is Jason is pulling some 6am to 9pm days right now, and will be for another week!!

But, on Friday evening, he quit at 5, and came home, showered, and went with us to town. Thank goodness he did because I was wanting to try on a few swimming suits, and with him watching them, that was a lot easier.

We ate supper at Chick-Fil-A, and then the kids got to play in the play area at the mall with Jason for a little bit.  I always tell them "no"; I don't know why. :)  We opted out of getting a cookie at the mall, to get Yogurt, kids choice!!

I tried the Sweet Coconut with no toppings, and it was really good!! The kids loaded down there's with toppings galore, but they liked it!

The reason why you can not see Maggie's face in the picture is because she is so impatient with food, constantly squealing, and begging for more. She could not get enough!! Silly girl!!

On Saturday Night, we went to a wedding for Jason's cousin. It was covered in burlap, jute, and white lace; all things I love!!

1st Trip to the Pool

We made a last minute trip to the city pool today; our first, hopefully of many, trips to the pool!!

It scares me a little with 6 little munchkins running around the place, and it was really crowded today, so I had to constantly be looking. And mom was there watching too, but still!

Addisyn and Karter are tall enough to go down the 2 slides; Addi went a bunch, and Karter got scared to go down.

And Maggie loved the bubbles, and loved running straight ahead into the deeper water. Crazy girl!!

See ya again soon pool!!

Officially Summer

We've been enjoying "summer" for about a month now, after all of our, activities came to an end.

But, for us, summer is officially here, now that the cousins are out of school, and summer is here for me too, since mom is out as well. Time to start some sewing projects!! :)

The cousins have been over this morning already, and this weekend the kids got in the swimming pool!! They pretty much beg everyday to turn the water hose on, and Jason's mom gave us this patched up little blue pool. I think we need to invest a little more in our kids swimming fund!! Oh well, I've decided they don't really care, and can come up with some pretty crazy ideas!

Maggie is going to be our water bug!! She loves it the most!! When did she get so big!!

Jaxon is the dare devil!! What am I going to do with him!!

First he jumped from the little green slide into the pool!

Obviously, that wasn't cool enough, so he decided to jump from the top of the clubhouse. Kylee stood back, and told him "I don't think you should do that."  What a good sister!!

And what a bad MAMA, I just stood there and took pictures!

He ended up doing it twice, and thankfully he was not hurt!!

Fun Time, Summer Time!!

"For God So Loved the World"

I finally wrote on my globe that I bought on our Fredericksburg Trip!! And, I really like how it turned out.

I had a medium fine point white paint pen, and marked with a pencil where I wanted everything first, then just traced over it.

The Graduate!

On Friday, we attended Karter's Kindergarten Graduation!

He is in the green shirt with his classmates about to walk and get his diploma!!

Karter is so genuine. He's so smiley, and is so true about his smile too!

Prior to graduation, they ask each one what they want to be when they grow up, and then they read it as they walk to get their diploma. I watched Karter sitting on the stands smiling and laughing at his classmates answers to what they wanted to be. It was so cute!! Some of the answers are really funny!

Karter answer was the best, obviously! He said he wanted to "help people build houses like his dad because that was nice, and Jesus would want us to help people."

So sweet! Proud, teary eyed Mama!

These two are T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!

And in 2 years, this baby girl will be graduating Kindergarten!!
