Kylee's 4th Birthday Party was this past Saturday. I opted for a lunch party instead of our usual night party. I think it was still fun.
The weather was beautiful, but still got a little hot by 1 or so.
Kylee chose her Hello Kitty theme this year; she could not decide between Princess or Hello Kitty, but finally decided a few months ago. I pushed her to decide because I said that I needed to start planning. :) Out of all the characters out there, I actually think Hello Kitty is cuter than the other ones, so I was happy she chose Hello Kitty. And believe me, she was loved on with plenty of Hello Kitty toys to last her a lifetime!!!
I knew she wanted a pink party, and I suggested yellow with it, and pink and yellow quickly became her new favorite colors!! :)
I still enjoy making the invitations, toppers, labels, napkin rings, and all the other stuff. So I bought some digital files on etsy, and was able to create what I wanted on vistaprint. I know it's probably easier to order something, but that's what I did.
Eating lunch. The food is always of UPmost importance when it comes to Jason. First let me say, he is a Holik, so that explains all of this, but he likes to feed people good when they come over. It doesn't really matter to me, so when I told him I think we are having sandwiches, I suggested we make some bar-b-que, and have manly sandwiches, and girly sandwiches. And for a side note, I would probably have eaten the manly sandwich.
Anyways, he said no don't worry about him, so we had turkey/ham/chicken salad sandwiches, chips, veggie cups, and fruit salad. I didn't even get a picture of this table. The veggie cups were pink and white dots that I ordered from oriental trading. That's the long story of our lunch.
I also wanted them to all sit together at one table. Each setting had their cup with their name on it. It didn't work as good as planned, maybe we will try again next year at her Princess party. She already has the next 2 years planned out. I'm not to worried about it because it will probably change. :)
We are so thankful for friends that come to our parties. We love them.
She definitely wanted pink cupcakes with pink icing. I can pretty much ruin a good ole box mix cupcakes. I was trying to make them pink, and I added a drop of blue accidentally, so the first batch was purple, and they ran over the side of the cup too. But, the second batch was better. I ordered them yellow dot cups from TomKat Studio, along with some yellow pearl gum balls.
We played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty, which didn't work as planned either. We played with other toys, opened presents, and the little boys played in the gravel.
Kylee wanted a Hello Kitty pinata. It was so funny, when we bought it, Kylee immediately noticed it woudn't match the party, but I told her I could paint it, so she was excited we could make it work.
Mama and Daddy with the birthday girl!!
