Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving for us was great!!

We had had a total of 5 Thanksgiving to attend and we made all of them ranging from Tuesday to Saturday, eating turkeyand dressing 4 out of the 5 times!! :)

BUT, we all know the serious business happens the morning after Thanksgiving!!
The Black Friday Shopping!!
For some weird reason, I LOVE IT!!!

And Y'all know the girl off of the Target Ads, she reminds me of ME!!

Starting on Sunday last week, when the ads came out (not even the "real" ads), I immediately got NERVOUS!!

Then on Tuesday I went to town and ran into Target, and seeing everything in the store and everyone "getting ready" for the Big day, made me even MORE nervous!!

I know I'm a dork.
Our Game Plan
Mom and I (Brianne couldn't get out of bed) decided we were just going to get to Target at 4, not wait in line because we weren't going for any of the big TV's or electronics. So, we did just that. We had to park by Wally's Party Store, and they opened the doors right when we walked up. So, we stood at the door waiting for the line that was all the way around Kirklands to get through the door. It was a constant flow of people for 15 MINUTES! I looked at Mom and said, "We aren't going to get anything we wanted."
BUT, we GOT EVERYTHING we went in wanting!! I guess there aren't a lot of Grandma's out shopping early probably because they are smarter!! :)
Well, mom wanted 2 of these toys at Target that were running for $19, so we split up in there, and on the way to the Toys, I picked up Toy Story 3, and 2 deals of the sheets sets for Mom and me.
I get to the far back corner of the store and see alot of these on the very TOP shelf, so I call Mom and she's like there OUT!! (On a side note, mom really isn't very good at finding things.) She even had a Target employee go look in the back, and they deceided they were all gone.
I said, "No, come to the back, I am standing right here!!" Another girl from our church was there, and she was wanting one, so we got a big long Candy Cane decoration to try and knock some down, and guess what happened,
One of the boxes fell on my face, which is beside the point, it cut me between my nose and my lip, and started bleeding!! And all I had to clean it up with was a wipe, and it was burning!! :)
But I had to keep going, you know!!
That was about the only interesting thing that happened. It took ONE hour to check out at Target. Then we went to

Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Big Lots
Academy/Michaels
Walgreens
Tractor Supply
Walmart
Mall --> This is when Brianne met up with us at 9!! :)
She did some good deals at Bath and Body Works and Hallmark, and Children's Place.
At Hallmark, I already used one of the $10 off coupons to get a Hallmark ornament for $3!!!
That was about it!! We had a good week!!
Christmas Pictures to come!!

Happy Thanksgiving

My Top 10 things I am thankful, in this order:
1. Jesus Christ - for he commands my destiny (from, In Christ Alone song). Amazing!!
2. Jason - because he loves me in all my failure of being a wife
3. Kylee and Jaxon - for children are the most forgiving (I need this); they have brought me back to enjoying the small things in life again.
4. My Mom and Dad - for they raised me to love Jesus and are still loving me and my family
5. Brianne & Duane - because she listens to me and he hugs me.
6. Addisyn, Karter, and Lexi - for they are the only one's to call me Aunt, which delights my soul.
7. Jason's Parents - for they constantly ask if we are doing okay, and want to make sure Jason and I are having time together as husband and wife.
8. Josh and Haley - because they are Jason's best friends, and make him so happy to be around, and we all laugh alot.
9. My Church - for all the friends and memories we share of great fellowship together; and they love my children, which delights me.
10. My House - it's small, it's not new, but it's our first home, and I kinda like it; just us building our little family here.
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Christmas Pictures

Here are our Christmas Pictures. Well, all the ones were NOT using on our Christmas card. I wanted those to be a surprise.... :)
In October, Brianne and I were going to try to get all 5 kids picture made together and then get something individual ones for some Christmas cards. It didn't go well at all. Lexi was extremely fussy, which she never is. Turns out she had an ear infection. Kylee actually threw up at the park and all over her dress. That was during her gastro intestinal problem.
Needless to say we didn't get any, and that photographer was all booked up for the Christmas season......So, a friend of mine from my MOPS group took them, Wendy, and I think she did GREAT!!

Making

It feels like all I have been doing lately is making things, but I haven't been able to make time for blogging.
What have I been making?
I've been making
birthday banner, cookies (real ones), baby shower memory book, baby shower banner, a posterboard display of Jason's cotton crops, birthday invitations, christmas cards, Awana newsletters, christmas programs for the play, lexi a baby book, and I am probably forgetting something!!
But I still had time to go to dinner this weekend, and do a little christmas shopping, had lunch with Susan and Amy, went to church, refferred 3 basketball games, take care of 2 kids, clean the house, and take family pictures.
Whew, I better go to bed.

What made Jason get dressed up??

I will say, it was a difficult time getting Jason to dress nice for this.

I ended up having to buy 2 pairs of pants in different sizes, so he would have his "options" last Sunday morning, and I could return the other ones. I also went around town and bought about 5 different ties and brought them home to see which matched his shirt best. And I have now returned all of those. :)
I even made him take some pictures before we left the house because I knew he wouldn't take any once we got to church.

What made Jason get dressed up?

This past Sunday he was ordained as a deacon in our church. Him and another very good family friend, Mitchel Beasley, were both ordained at the same time. Our church voted back in the early summer I believe on bringing these two before the church.
What his certificate read:
having been chosen one "of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom," and capable of using the office well, was set apart publicly to the office and work of Deacon

It was a great day.

Bro. Bob signing the paper.

Bro. Bob doing the charge for Jason.

My daddy praying over both of them.

Bro. Chad praying.

I'm sure both were happy it was over!! They both gave their testomonies in front of the church. I should have helped him prepare a little bit, but he did great. He made me laugh, and I cried. :)

Daddy presenting the certificate and Bible.

Kissing Kylee after it was over

Reception

And back to this picture. Seriously, could you smile a little bit?? It looks more like you are ready to FIGHT someone than going to be ordained!!
He really did have a black eye from working the other day; I don't know if you can tell or not in the picture.
And look at his fist........Seriously, what am I going to do with him!!

Hopefully our Christmas pictures turn out better!!

Excited is an Understatement

Wonder how Kylee would react if we took her to Six Flags???
I think she is definitely MY child!!

3 Months + One Day

Jaxon turned 3 months old yesterday!! Can you believe it!! Time flies when you're having fun!!
What is he up to??
Loves laying under this toy, and to really make him happy, put him underneath the ceiling fan. He loves it!!

He has the official BALD spot on the back of his head from laying down. Hence, he doesn't really like tummy time.

He eats about every 4 hours. Usually wakes up one time a night to eat. We still swaddle him when he sleeps. (why do we start this)....... I know why, because our kids are SPASTIC!! For some reason, they can't relax there arms as infants; it's kind of like they do the startle reflex all the time. Anyone else like this??

He loves to chew on his hands; if he can get both in his mouth, well all is better. Need to get a picture of this.

Wore his first pair of shoes the other day!!

Spits up all the time still. He basically has to wear a bib wherever we go. Even if it's been like 2 hours after he ate; he could just randomly spit up.

Has no clue how these 2 are so ready for him to get BIGGER, so they can play and be "rough"!! :)

Just in the past 2 weeks has noticed Kylee. He loves for her to talk to him. He just smiles real big!! Which of course makes her feel pretty good about herself!!

And just an interesting fact. When I took Kylee to the Dr. on Friday, she weighed 22 lbs..... She is 25 months old....... Jaxon at 2 months weighed 11 lbs....... He is already 1/2 of her!!

Just Been One of Those Weeks

So, to get you back on track, here's what's been going on with my sweet, little, Kylee bird.
Last Thursday, she woke up in the night, and threw up 4 times, and then started having diarrhea. After her nap that day, she was acting normal. Thinking she was over it.
Acts normal all day Friday....
On Saturday, she woke up in the night and threw up 1 time. We got a TRY to take Christmas pictures will all 5 cousins, and she throws up again while we are there. Pretty much ruins the Christmas pictures, and we don't get anything accomplished that we needed to. :( Again, after her nap, feels and acts pretty normal.
Acts normal all day Sunday.... (Which is Halloween)
Throws up again in the early hours of Monday morning!! I started crying because I just don't know what is going on. Call the Dr. offices they give us the pretty restricted diet to follow for 2 days, and by Wednesday Kylee was acting normal again.....
so we thought.
She threw up again this morning (Friday). I call the Dr. promptly at 8, and we get an appt for 9:15. I wasn't going to take her in even, but it eases my mind so much to hear what the Dr. has to say.
I love our dr. so much because he did exactly that. He makes it seem so simple and understandable. He said she has gastrointestinitis, which is an inflammation of the stomach and intestines. So certain foods are causing it to not settle well making her throw it up.
So for 2 WEEKS we have to kind of watch what we eat. Only clear liquids, NO DAIRY, and mostly bland foods.
Praise the Lord we know what it is, and hopefully, we can control it now!!
Oh, and to add to the bad week already. I shut the car door on Kylee's hand the other day, and it hurt her pretty good. I wanted to cry too. And then she was trying to open the playroom door, and I came up behind her and opened it for her, and she was leaning against, and feel into the door jam. She has big bruise on her cheek. :(
Hope you have a great weekend; we will enjoy our time together!!

Abilene Zoo 2010

For the past 3 years (I didn't go the first year), we have taken a trip to the Abilene Zoo with the kiddos and then did a little shopping.
We can barely fit in the car with strollers and all the kids!! No one can have anymore kids, Brianne!! :)

We also barely made it there. With Kylee sticking her hands in the other two faces, Addi not sharing her baby doll, and Karter biting Kylees' finger because well, she had it in his face. You get the point...
They have really done alot of improvements to the zoo even since last year. It was a beautiful day.

TWINS??? Lexi and Jaxon got called twins that day. In fact, when Brianne and I are anywhere together they think they are twins!! How cute!!
Then we go on to say, "No, one is 3 months and one is 2 months." And that just confuses them more.

We saw multiples of everything. Lions, monkeys, giraffes, bears, one leopard, zebras, buffaloes, snakes, one rhino, beaver, bobcat, turkeys, wolf, birds.
We saw things with big tongues!!!

And BIG eyes!! :)
