A Wonderful Wedding

One of the last few Holik boys got married this past Saturday; it was Jason's first cousin. He was a groomsmen, so I went with him to the rehearsal on Friday night. Here's the groomsmen congregated around not standing in their line, and not listening to instructions! :) Out of the 7 groomsmen, 6 were Holik's! But, there are only a few left to get hitched, so the wedding's will be dwindling down soon!

The wedding was beautiful; it's make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when the groom tears up because he see's his bride. So sweet! But, I couldn't be sappy for long because I was sitting in the church with 3 crazy kids that were just ready for the party to start! :)

Maybe that's why I'm hanging on to Jason's arm so tight at the reception! Isn't he handsome?

Brianne and Duane, and Karter trying to sneak in the picture!

Seriously, Kylee, that's not attractive! I don't think she cares though!

Fun, Fun, another in the books, and Jason is in TWO more this summer!!

Girls Day, Fun Day

For a girl, what's better than, going to the mall, target, getting pedicures, and eating Chick-fil-a.

NOTHING!

This girl named Mags.....

Ya'll, this girl is a mess. She is a "go big or go home" girl. She just really is going to have a great time wherever we go. She loves FOOD, she loves to be with Big Sis and Big Bro, she loves her BIG bed, we call her "ya-ya" from the Sandlot because she literally copies everything we say. She usually has a messy face and tangled hair! And hates brushing her teeth!

Here she is chasing bubbles in her cousins' panties outside in our yard.

BUT, she is also so STUBBORN, strong willed, whatever you want to call it. Which I, for one, like ambitious and determined kids. But, right now, it is difficult at times to steer it all in the right direction. So with that being said, the pacifier is gone. And she is MAD. :) At night and during the day, no more. Cold Turkey.

So now, she talks all the time when she is happy! It's like she's had so much to say, and now she can say it!

Love this girl!!

Fredericksburg Anniversary Trip

I know I put on facebook how excited and surprised I was that Jason (on his own) booked a suite for us this past week in Fredericksburg for our 8 year anniversary!! How awesome is that! He's been out of the picture for the past two weeks with planting season, so it was so nice to have my husband back! :)

We hooked it there, and went straight to Mamacita's for lunch. We were starving! We checked into our suite; it was a Bed & Breakfast but it was more like a fancy hotel suite. It was real fancy and new! It was about a block off Main Street so we just walked and spent the afternoon walking up and down both sides!

We stopped for some snacks! Yum!

Later in the afternoon, we headed out to a "real" peach farm that I googled about. It really was a lot of fun to pick our own peaches right off the tree; we ate several too! I don't think I would enjoy picking peaches for a living!

That night we went for a late dinner to the Cabernet Grill. It was so fancy, smancy! We enjoyed it; my food was great, but Jason didn't like his as much. But, we managed to get a cute picture!!

The next day we hit up the trade days; then headed home, and ate some BBQ in Brady. Of course, that was Jason's favorite meal of the trip! :)

It was fun and a complete surprise which made it better!

Kylee's Memory Book

I found a cute memory book idea for Kylee's Kindergarten projects on Pinterest using brown paper sacks.

Kylee did most cutting and glueing and designing! We created a cover page with her school name and a place for her picture.

Each end stays open like this, so the idea is to slide in her crafts and they will keep inside their. So, we did a month-by-month book; the size ended up being 12x12 book. I got the end of the book "bound" at Office Max for $3, and the paper sacks were free from HEB!

Sweet Friends

Emma and Easton came over to play a couple of weeks ago! My kids love them! They are so sweet to our family! Kylee and Emma will start school this August together!! And Easton and Jaxon will start together in 2 years!!

We hung out at Popsie and Mimi's for lunch and then some swinging and jumping! Then we came home and played dress up and Barbies!!

We are truly blessed by these sweet friends!!

New Blue Cast

Jaxon got his blue cast off that went above the knee yesterday, and he got a new BLUE one below the knee put on.

They cut it off, and you can only imagine what that leg smelt like!! :) His foot was so dirty, and the hair was so long on his little leg, and the dead skin was peeling off. It was a really nasty combination!

The dr is pleased with the healing. It's been 4 weeks already, and it just worries me a little that it's still not completely fixed. He's silly and happy as ever!

Cutest Chick Around

The kids got these hooded towels a couple of Christmas' ago, and we are just now using them. Maggie loves her duck towel; she asks for it every night when she gets out of the bath! And she must have her hands in the holes!! Silly girl!!

GG turns 88

My Grandmother, my Dad's Mom, GG according to the great-grandkids, had her 88th birthday party this Saturday. It was a nice time with family, and of course about 40 of her girlfriends! She loves to talk and loves a party. I think I'm a lot like her!! :)

We had a good time celebrating! Grandmother with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Not all were there.

I just love grandmother. I love the generation she came from. The generation of saying what you feel. She says what she feels to be true no matter what; rather religion, politics, if the food was crappy, or somebody she doesn't like.

Has she offended me? Yes. Has it come across as rude? Sometimes. But, I love the freedom you have of saying what you believe on your heart to be true.

According to Ben Carson, we have lost our freedom of speech because of political correctness.

This is so true. People are too sensitive and can't handle somebody disagreeing with them on any level, so our mouths are tied shut by what is politically correct.

It's ok to disagree, and we find freedom when we are bold enough to politely state the truth that we feel in our hearts.

Thanks GG for making us laugh about all the crazy things you say, and for loving on all of us unconditionally!!

We have grass!! Yeah!!

I apologize for the pictures. My camera on my phone is set to some weird tone, and of course I don't know how to fix it! :)

Interests

It's neat to see the kids interest, and how they change with age or curiosity.

Kylee is into riding her bike when Jason runs, or riding her bike with me. She begs to go with us, or to run with us. So, I saw something on pinterest that I thought would be fun for her to do. We are doing a "100 Miles of Summer". She made a poster, and is coloring in the squares as she earns her miles. You can walk, bike, or run. She did 4 miles at one time the other day on her bike with Jason. I might try to do 50 Books with her this summer too. She still loves to color, make cards, write everyone's names, tell Jaxon how to spell words or names, and cut and glue "scrapbooks".

Jaxon is into his superheroes. He's manage to collect quite a few from Christmas, and then at the AWANA store he got two more. Of course, he loves for Kylee to play with him at the Batman Cave. I love the little noises he makes, and how he talks to them. And who the bad guys are, and how they are going to have to rescue Barbie. So sweet!

On another note, he is handling his cast like a champ. At first, it was a little rocky, but now, he goes where he wants, and has slept through the night for 4 nights in a row. Yeah! Because he wasn't right when he got it on. He wore a hole in the bottom of the cast, and in the knee of the cast. Everything is going fine with it; we go back in about 10 days, and hopefully he can get one below the knee then!

This stinker is 2, and for sure acts like it. She is the MOST opinionated child I have. She cries getting into the car, she cries when we have to get her out, she cries to change her diaper, she cries to put on clothes!!

And she's been trying to go on the potty. We'll see. I'm really just trying to figure out if she is really ready, or not.

But, she sure is a cutie!!
