Christmas Morn

Santa CAME! Kylee woke up at 2AM and thought it was time to get up! Ha! We told her to go back to bed! Then we ended up waking them up about 7:30!

Kylee specifically asked for an American Doll, Girl Legos, a gumball machine, and a REAL PUPPY! We did good on all but the last one! :) Jaxon asked for a "supernova battle rover", and Maggie asked for a doll with diapers!

Christmas at Mimi and Popsies was great! The kids are absolutely spoiled rotten! Which I guess is good! Kylee got a JEEP for her American Girl doll and Frozen Rain Boots, Maggie got a Market to sell her food, and Jaxon got fire fighter legos, and a fire fighter suit, that Maggie actually took over wearing for a few days!

*Maggie's smiling so big in this picture!*

And Uncle Josh and Aunt Melissa got them all a Mini IPAD! Seriously! They are spoiled by them!

Then we headed to my parents to open presents there!

Jason's cousin farms the land right across from Addi's house, and he wrote this on one of the modules! So sweet! Addi loves carrying around Ellah at all the summer weddings we went too!

Christmas Day was great. We are so blessed.

Kindergarten Recipe Book

Kylee and her class put together a recipe book. At first looking at it, I panicked thinking I never sent a recipe to school with Kylee. Turns out they picked a recipe they liked, and told the teacher exactly how to make it and how much of each ingredient you needed! Some of them were hilarious, like for pancakes the recipe called for "6 gallons of milk, and 8 cups of brown sugar", another recipe said to "cook it in a 12 degree oven for 10 minutes!" It was really cute, and I will forever cherish this.

Kylee's was "Christmas Morning Breakfast" that she likes to make with Daddy. So on Saturday, we made Bacon and eggs! Yum!

Bob and Colleene

Jason and I rode with our Pastor to San Marcos to visit Bob and Colleene. Bob was our interim pastor in 2007 and 2008, specifically when Kylee was born. We just fell in love with them. And you know they must be special if Jason will go for a 3 1/2 hour ride to just to see them! :) Jason had a special bond with him, and Bob always loved Kylee. He came to the hospital when she was born, and even came to the hospital when we took her to the ER before she was one! :) We love them too!

He's had some set backs, but we are praying he stays healthy!

Let Their be Christmas Everywhere

We've been doing a little Christmas everywhere we go!

On Friday morning, we had our last MOPS meeting! Chocolate fountain and Hot Cocoa Bar made it extra yummy!

We left early and headed to Kylee's School Christmas Party! This was the cutest thing ever!! All the kids are so happy, and nice to each other! They switched gifts, and she got a kaboodle with hair accessories! She loves it! Then she passed out her "Reindeer Noses" to her classmates! I love all the decorations they make around the classroom!

Then Eve and I decided to hit up the new Chick-fil-a, and I needed a tea! :) It's awesome in every way possible, and the kids played on the playground for a good hour! What a fun Friday!

Counting to 100

Jason and I were in the same Kindergarten class together, which is kind of weird to think about, but there's an on going joke that he can remember me, not being able to count to 100 in Kindergarten. I'm sure it was like the first week, and no one could! Ha!

Anyways, Kylee brought this home a few weeks ago, and she was so proud of herself! I just laughed thinking about me being in Kindergarten and not counting to 100. :)

She also decided to write from 1 to 100 with her sidewalk chalk this weekend!

Addi's Birthday Party

Addisyn had her 9th birthday party this past weekend!! She joined with her other cousin, Sierra who is turning 8, and they had a joint party at the pool! They had a blast! And their were so many kids there.

Singing "Happy Birthday"! And the kids were starving! Ha!

Last Minute Good Time

Kylee didn't have school on Monday, which was a wonderful treat!! The kids played so good all day. So at the last minute Monday afternoon, I decided we should go see Elsa and Anna at Chick-fil-a, and this would be a good time to see Santa at the mall, while Kylee was with us!!

It was a great time, but would have been better if Jason was with us. They were finishing up the last field of harvesting! Yay!

We had blue ice cream, and balloon animals made!!

They all did really good talking with Santa. Jaxon was explaining to him what he wanted! Ha! And Maggie went and talked to him last week one day. Kylee was very specific and direct with what she asked for! :)

A Little Christmas Around Here

And these guys are getting in the Christmas Mood!! We've only broken 2 ornaments!! I think we might have to move to having 2 trees next year. :)

Frozen Day

Kylee, Addi, and Emma went to "Breakfast with Elsa" at Old Fort Concho this past weekend. It was kind of cheesy, but they seemed to like it enough. Eve and I had a good time walking around to all the little merchants!!

That evening, Kylee went to a Frozen birthday party for a girl in her class. It was set-up real nice. They got to have a pillow fight, dress up, do make-up, and play a frozen game! And they had a few snacks! She had a great time!

Light Tour

On Friday evening, we went through the Christmas Lights along the river! But, we had the best seat, and the weather was gorgeous! Enough chilly to make it feel like Christmas!! :) So thankful for Lance and Eve giving us a hay ride with all our friends!!

And they actually had the live nativity at the end this year!

Then we went and had yummy pancakes for supper!! The kids got to decorate cupcakes!

Fun times I look forward to each year!!

Polar Express Train Field Trip

Kylee's grade at school got to go on a field trip to the Train Depot because they've been reading about the Polar Express!

Kylee with her class. She told me that there would be trains there, but that they were not going to ride the "real" train to the North Pole. :)

Kylee with the whole Kindergarten

It was a good time that Jaxon and Maggie got to enjoy too!

Texas Snow: All Good Things Must Come To An End

Lord willing, the guys will finish up the stripping this week.

It's been long, and it's been good.

And I'm sad to say, my help was not needed this year. I mean help on the ground. It could be because of two little munchkins had no place to go, or it could be that Melissa took my spot... Either way I'm happy! :)

Brianne's forcing me to do a shutterfly photo book for her, so I was looking through pictures! These group pictures crack me up! Love them so!!

Big Toe Announcement

This is Maggie's foot. Her left foot. It has marker all over it because I was not watching her. But that's not important. She has lost her big toe nail. I'm sad about it because I ran over her foot with the grocery cart, and it didn't look good. Don't ask why she didn't have a shoe on.

Another important thing to remember is that

Kylee has lost ONE of her big toe nails before, and Jaxon has lost BOTH of his big toe nails before!

I just don't think this is normal.

Thanksgiving '14

I hosted Thanksgiving for both sides of my family this weekend. I have to say that "hosting" is hard. And I wasn't even cooking the main turkey and dressing! Ha!

Dad's family came for Thanksgiving Day lunch, and Mom's family came Saturday for lunch.

It was great fun, and I don't have a picture of any live person from the whole weekend!!

And, we managed to shop Thursday evening, and Friday morning.

Looking forward to some Christmas festivities coming up already!!

Pies!

Our ladies at church got together at Mrs. Helen's to make pies for Thanksgiving last Saturday! I learned a lot!! I've come to believe Pie Making is a lost art, and I'm pledged to hang on to it!! :)

I made a blueberry.

And a peach. Mrs. Helen did her fancy crust thing. Jason ate the peach all in one day......

I Need Your Help!

Seriously! I need your help!

It all started when Wendy took this amazing picture of my children.

So, I obviously wanted it framed and put up in the house. But I really wanted it big..... I looked online for some of those really big scalloped frames. I found one, but the size I wanted it was going to be $400 for the frame! Ridiculous!

So I mentioned making one to Jason, and he's on board to do it! Glad I married a man that doesn't mind a good project! :)

So, I purchased some wood from Lowes, and printed, cut, and traced the scallop I wanted.

I borrowed an old school projector, and traced the scallop as big as I wanted the frame on the wall.

Cut it out, and traced it on the wood, and Jason cut the wood. Cutting out the part in the middle was a little trickier, but he did it!!

And put a nice routed edge on it!

Here lies the problem! What color to paint it?

I have a red buffet that it will hang above..... It is really barn red.

So I don't know what color to paint the frame.

No White, because the cotton is pretty white in the picture and I think it will wash out.

No gray, our walls are gray.

Not, red or purple or pink or orange or black....

So, it leaves me with

yellow or turquoise or a lime green...

I already painted it a gray, and then I put black on top of that, so when I distress it some of those colors will show through......
