Just Out and About

We've just been hanging out this week; going here and there. 

The girls and I went to McDonalds yesterday.  Maggie is officially a "big kid" because she goes up in the play house at McDonalds now!! Either that or she is just to stubborn to be left behind excluded from the big kids!!

Last night, we had our back to school bash at church.  My kids have been talking about the bounce houses all week! They literally bounced for 2 1/2 hours straight taking a break to eat supper!! Red faced kids!!

Mom and I made these little, ruffled kitchen towels to match a friends new kitchen!! I like them!!

Other than that we've just been soaking up the last bit of summer!!

Cleaning Out

It's that time of year again, to start weeding out some of the summer clothes, since Labor Day is around the corner. I have cleaned out both kids closests, which is a BIG task. The girls share a closet, which means everything must fit in this certain space.  And it's not just the clothes, but then you have shoes, and jackets, and "hand me downs from cousins that you might can wear next fall", and babies, and little dolls, and diapers, and roller skates, and bows, and sleeping bags, and diaper bags, and you get the point. 

But, it feels real good when it's done, and then I just sit back and pray it stays like this for a few seconds. 

Then I decided to tackle the kitchen cabinets, which were in desperate need of help. 

It took a couple hours, but it feels good to be organized in there.  My excuse is we have no pantry.  Well, maybe we do, but it's full of party stuff. :)  But, it's around the corner, and in the front hallway, not in any way accessible to the kitchen, so I wouldn't put food in there any way.  So, that's my excuse as to why I let it get so bad.  Because if you don't have room, you just cram stuff around.  

Sigh... Hoping this stays clean too!! :)

Jaxon's Party

It's been nearly a month since we celebrate Mickey style for Jaxon's 3rd Birthday! It was blast, and I loved the Mickey Mouse theme!!

We had a Hot Dog Bar, with yummy toppings, like grilled onions, gucamole, bacon, and chili!!

I made these ears for all the kids to take home. Don't ever try to do it.  It's a pain.  Hot Glue and Black felt don't mix......

So thankful for great friends that come celebrate with us!! 

Jaxon got this big 18 wheeler truck with all these other trucks loaded on it, and he was so fascinated by it; and so were his other buddies!! They were so cute!!

As the night went on, Jason decided to spice up the slip n slide a little bit, by putting it at the end of the slide.

They loved it!!

 

And no one got hurt!! 

Thankful for another year with our little man!!

Inspiration Board

I love pinterest. 

But, I have also come across an App called "Mood Board".  I downloaded it, but it seems kind of difficult. Have any of you tried this or use something like this? 

For instance, I am looking at fabric for Kylee's room, but also furniture pieces, lamps, rugs, and other decor, and I want to see it all together on one board. 

Anyways, let me know, and for now I'll just keep pinning!! :)

Riding in Cars with Girls

The girls and I went on a "mini" road trip Sunday afternoon to Bronte for a friends birthday party.  The little girls' mom was in our wedding, and it was so nice to catch up with her!!

Kylee took these pictures with my phone while I was driving because she was bored! These were not the only pictures she took; there were about 100 more of Maggie's foot!! :)

My Weekend

We had a great relaxing weekend.  On Saturday, Brianne and I ran in the Southland Shuffle.  It felt good to run and be done with it for the rest of the day!! :) I wanted to go to a few garage sales, but we didn't, so instead, Mom, Kylee, and I went to the ABA to just look around.  They have some really weird and funny stuff there.  I thought this little white desk was cute, and Mom thought Maggie needed this little, bitty toddler bed!!

The only thing I ended up getting was the big "K"!! And I love it more and more!! I plan to use it in Kylee's new room!! We'll see!!

On Sunday evening, we finally celebrated my birthday at my parents house.  I share my birthday with my brother-in-law so we always celebrate together!! It was yummy, as always!!

Look at Me!!

Jason's the dad that loves to wrestle with the kids and do crazy tricks with them.  Kylee's been doing this since she was probably less than a year old!! :)  Jaxon has started doing it too, but he's still a little wobbly and a little to rough with it.  So, Kylee thinks she's pretty hot stuff being the only one that can do really cool tricks with daddy.

Some time a long, long time ago, I dreamed of having a little boy like you.  

When I was younger, I would baby sit for people.  I loved doing laundry, watching the kids play with the toys, and feeding them.

I loved the little boys that were rough and tough, dirty, fiesty, and I really loved little boy underwear! I loved watching them make noises with their little cars.

And I hoped one day I would have a little boy. 

You are everything I have ever longed for in a boy, and then God went above and beyond my dreams, and gave me you. 

You are so fun. You have a special little sparkle in your eyes because you are so smiley. You enjoy your toys, and get excited over big tractors and cars that go fast. You love to wrestle and be a tough boy like Daddy.  With your sweet words about my hair or clothes, you compliment me more than anybody else in the house.  You love to eat; you love to sleep. You love wearing cowboy boots, and want to be a cowboy like Paw-Paw. You always want to go "work" with Daddy and be a farmer. You love playing with your guns, swords, and are always ready to fight somebody. :)

Garden Harvest

We've been enjoying cantoloupe and watermelon everyday for the past week, and I think we still have maybe a couple more weeks of good eatin'!

Since we dug the water well this year, we've been able to water whenever we have wanted. The kids love jumping in the gator with Uncle Josh to go check the garden. 

We've had some onions and peppers, and a few squash, and a few corn. 

Now, it's time to cut them up and try them! I feel like this part of our lives, most people just don't get, and will probably be disgusted by it!! :)  Using the outdoor wood table, and some knives, everyone just starts cutting and eating it. If it's a good one, it goes into a big bowl that goes to the refrigerator, and if it's not sweet, it goes to the dogs, or into the wheel barrow, and the kids throw the bad ones in the field. 

That's some good watermelon, said "those backwoods country folk"!! :)

Here and There

Last Friday we went to the pool with our friend Jarrett.  Kylee was curious as to why there was so many people there and why we had to pay to get in.  She was still thinking about Karter's Birthday Bash there!! :)

Afterwards, we went to Iggy's Italian Ice.  Y'all, it was the best thing I've ever eaten. I think. But, really, I got coconut on bottom, then they put vanilla ice cream in the middle, and then coconut on top.  You can pick whatever flavors you want. It was so good!! 

Maggie's been wearing pigtails, and it makes her look so BIG!! She looks a lot like Kylee at this age, petite and is a fireball. Of course, you have to get past, the dark skin, and blonde hair!!

We had to get our oil changed the other day, and the kids were the only one's excited about it! Because they got to play!! And act silly! 

And if you happened to have been in Hobby Lobby on Wednesday, and heard a child screaming, that was mine.  Maggie will not sit down in the cart. This was kind of problem in March/April/May, and then she really hasn't come to town with me this summer, until Wednesday that is.   I put her in the big part of the grocery cart to let her stand, and she screams about that.  

I finally just straped her in the top, and she screamed until we left. Oh joy!! :)
