We had a wonderful, fun filled weekend, with just our families. I would really love to just bask in what a good time we had all day long.
On Saturday, we cleaned and just hung around the house, and then Kylee and Jaxon went with Popsie and Mimi to see Mamaw in town. They got to go eat at McDonalds. Saturday, was also Jason's mom's birthday. We didn't do a lot of celebrating. :)
On Easter, the kids got baskets with little stuff in them. Kylee was thrilled to say the least, and then she was super excited when she got to pull out Jaxon's goodies too!! Everyone woke up in a really good mood.

I woke up extra early to try and get us all ready by 8:50; Jason's parents came by and took a family picture of all us because that is the only way we would get a family picture.
That good mood I just mentioned seemed to have left Kylee and would not come back until we were done taking pictures. I mean "why won't she smile for the camera?"

Maybe cause she's 2. Maybe she doesn't like everyone looking at her.
OR Maybe she is a HOLIK.
And what that means is SHE DOESN'T LIKE EVERYONE TELLING HER WHAT TO DO!!
We were telling her to smile--> She didnt' like that, so she wouldn't smile.
Here is Kylee in her Easter dress, last year.

Easter Sunday; same church; same place; same dress; different kid.
Here is Lexi wearing "the dress" this year. Now, all the girls have worn it.

After church, the kids got to do the Easter egg hunt. Kylee's first Easter she only got "uno huevo". So, we were all really pumping Jaxon up on the way to church in hopes that he might get more than one egg. Telling him things like, "you can do it Jax Jax", "we know you can get more than one egg", "don't lose focus after the first egg", and "keep trying"!!

And there off.

She got lots of eggs, and way more candy than we need; like every kid probably.
Except for this little guy. All the words of encouragement, and pep talk, didn't help him.
He got distracted by the one, little, yellow egg, and never moved on to hunt anymore.

Until, Uncle Dan through a few more in his basket!! Yeah!! (For those of you that are really confused about who Uncle Dan is; it's really not his uncle; just family friend that we call Uncle)

Then we went home and enjoyed the day with both sides of family. Ate great food. Took naps. Talked. Hunted more eggs. And talked alot about the "empty egg".
The main thing about Easter isn't the eggs. But, while the kids loved hunting eggs, why not throw an empty one out there to give the opportunity to explain the empty tomb. Praise God the tomb was empty. We serve a RISEN KING!!!
And, as I said at the beginning, I would love to sit here all day long and look through pictures, smile, and think about all the fun we had, BUT
I better get my you know what in gear because we have a busy week!! See ya soon!!
