Life

I had the privilege of hosting a table this year at the

Pregnancy Help Center Banquet!!
Life
John 1:4
"In Him was life, and that life was the light of men."
Life
What an awesome thing!!
God has given each of us Life!!
I had never been before, but Jason's sister, Haley, volunteers there in the summer when she is home, and I kind of got connected to the center through her. She would talk about some amazing things they are able to do.
And being there last night, only MAGNIFIED the IMPORTANCE of this center in San Angelo.
You can check them out here.
I encourage you, if you ever have a chance to volunteer, or have money to give, or time to go just see their new facility!!
Because Saving Lives is a worthy cause!!
The banquet was held at ASU; they served us dinner, and then the guest speaker was Star Parker. All Igot to say, is "SHE WAS AWESOME!!" She is actually running for Congress in California, but lives in a heavy democratic district. You can check out her website here.
She needs to be elected and get to Washington as fast as possible because she is right now with making changes in a BIBLICAL way!!
You know me, the little Baptist girl, I kept wanting to shout, "AMEN" when she was speaking!! :)
Dr. Sutliff was introduced. The center contacts him for medical advice when needed. Also, I saw Dr. Coronado there; she is another OB/GYN. And there was lots of other people from Wall there so that was cool!!
Anyways, you get the point!! The Pregnancy Help Center is making a difference on the local level, and it is a great thing!!

Two, Two Sweet Party!!

Kylee turned two on Saturday, and we had a great time with her, and her family and friends at her party!!
It even rained all day Saturday, and NO, I didn't panic!! :) I did have to make some changes, but I think it turned out smooth!!

In thinking of what to do for her birthday, I tried to think of things that she likes right now ALOT. I came up with, horses, stickers, play doh, and sweets. I would say just candy, but really she likes pop, and cookies too, much thanks to the grandparents. Seriously, I have to be the bad guy all the time. Anyways, so I thought a SWEET party would be fun, and started looking at some ideas on the internet. The ideas are endless, so here is what we ended up with at the party!!
AND IF YOU KNOW A HOLIK OR ARE ONE, YOU KNOW THIS IS A DREAM PARTY!!
Invitation
Sign on the Back Door

The candy table!! It took a little time to plan it, and organize the way I wanted it. I really like how the Dum-Dum Tree's turned out!!

The candy list:

Skittles

M&M's

Gum Balls

Twizzlers

Lemon Drops

Whoppers

Smarties

Candy Necklaces

Suckers

Gum Drops

Laffy Taffy

Gummi Bears

The cupcakes. I found the wrappers at Micheal's in town, and did the icing myself that afternoon. I wish I could make my colors more BOLD, but I'm always to scared to try and then mess up the day of the party.

The picture frame with skittles around it said: "Grab a bag, take some treats, enjoy the sugar because life is sweet!"

And they had little brown paper sacks with a tag on them to stuff with candy!!

Birthday Girl

Fixing to sing Happy Birthday to her!! She was so funny. I lit the candle and BEFORE we even started singing she blew the candle out!!

I guess we might have practiced a little TO much!!!

Opening Presents

I am glad to say, she did very good telling everyone "thank you" after opening her gifts.

Kylee and Rylee (Only 12 days apart)

This picture cracks me up!! Secretly in the corner eating her candy!!

Caught!!!

A little hyper, you say!!!!
She actually went to bed really easy Saturday night, and slept all night!!! :)
It was alot of fun!! Thanks for coming to her party, and we even missed a few really good friends that night!!

It's Fall!!!

I don't know when the "official" first day of Fall is, but at our house, we are declaring it to be "FALL"!!!
We had "Pass It On" Night at AWANA's last night, and Kylee wore her "Witten" football jersey. I personally like Jason Witten!!
Touchdown!!

No, she really wasn't doing the sign for Touchdown because ,well, she doesn't know how to, and here in the picture, well, she was throwing a fit, because she didn't want her picture taken!!

Anyone else in this stage??
And we have pumpkins around the house. I am happy to say the fall decorations have been up for about a week now!!

I absolutely LOVE this time of year!!

God is Good

I was sitting her trying to think of a title for this post, and after thinking about all the things going on in our lives right now, I came up with God is Good!!

Here are some things that are keeping me super busy these days.....

- AWANA's at church is going really well. Our registration night this year we had 40 KIDS!!! Last year, our most was around 25. And the kids actually kept coming, we have had about 37 all threee nights this year so far!! God is Good!

- But what is even BETTER than seeing all those kids at AWANA's!! About 22 of them are CHURCH MEMBERS!! This is truly answered prayer, and a sign that God is faithful!! And guess what, these kids have PARENTS, who I am just absolutely in love with!! Seriously, we have so many new young families joining our church and becoming involved; it is a God thing!! God is good!!

- We are getting ready to celebrate 2 years with our baby girl, Kylee. God is Good!!

- The church had a little shower for us, and we got some really nice things. The hostess gave us a Target gift card combined with a few other gift cards we received, and we were able to get this double stroller without paying for any of it!! God is good!!

- We've had 6 weeks with our little man; enough said. God is good!!

$300 Sock??

YEP, that's right this little, baby sock cost us $300!!

Last Monday, our washing maching just quit working right in the middle of a load. The washer was full of water all the way to the top.
Jason worked with it, and managed to get it to drain, but was making a horrible noise.
He pulled the washer out, and checked it, and thought it was the motor.
We decieded it was probably just as cheap to buy a whole new washer, then to take it and get it fixed!!
After buying the new washer, Jason's dad was taking apart the old one, and noticed this little sock stuck somewhere it wasn't supposed to be.
SO, yeah, nothing was wrong with the washer except this little baby sock!!
AAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Go, Fight, Win

On Friday, we went to Wall's Homecoming, and it was Jaxon's first football game!! We had a good time, but it was so stinkin' hot!!
Jaxon was born on a Saturday, and that next day at church an older man who has been at the church for years, who actually has been a Central Bobcat season ticket holder since 1956!!!
Anyways, he LOVES football, and listens to the Wall games on the radio. He told mom that he that he can just hear the announcers in 15 years saying
"Jaxon Holik breaks a tackle, and he's going, he's going, he's gone. TOUCHDOWN!!"
It was so sweet, and brought tears to my eyes!!
God willing one day that would be pure joy to see that happen!!

Can we be nOrmAL........NO!!!

Finally, got a sucker!!!

Meeting Famous People

Well, I really didn't know who these 2 football players were until I heard them speak.
And they are not only former NFL Football players, but more than that they use there past to speak to young people about how GOD can give you a second chance.
Both are straight forward, right on, Jesus Christ believing men!!
So fun to hear them speak and watch them do their stuff!!
The BIG guy is Devin Wyman, played for the New England Patriots Super Bowl team!!
Holding Jaxon!!!

Here they are speaking. The smaller guy (who's arm muscles were HUGE) is Keith Davis. He did play in the NFL, but his success was in college at USC!!

They did some cool tricks to entertain the crowd. Here is Wyman picking up to girls and spinning them around.
Also, you see that "STEEL ROD" he is picking them up with. He also put the middle part of the rod in his mouth, and bent the rod into a "U" shape!! It was awesome!!

Here is Keith Davis in the process of bending a frying pan!!

He has it wedged into between his stomach and leg.

24 jr.high and hs boys trying to break Devin Wyman's grip....... Did they do it????

Pulling.....NOPE!! They couldn't do it!! He is so strong!!

And here is Keith Davis with his "rolled up frying pan"!! He bent it all the way into a BURRITO!!
Towards the end, they gave their testimonies, and Keith used the example of the frying pan, about how GOD can change the way you are, if you only let Him.
Here is what he wrote on the back of his signed football card about his testimony:
"In my family and neighborhood there was a lot of gang and drug activity. My dad sold drugs and committed suicide when I was only 4. As a teenager in the rough inner city of Los Angeles, I found out that if I would draw close to God, God would draw close to me. I made a decision and opened my heart to Jesus. I decided to belong 100% and not just believe. God became my "heavenly dad." To me it became more important to please Him than to please my friends. My relationship with Christ is what changed me. It is awesome!"

Devin Wyman spoke about his testimony as well. His was so powerful and moving. It truly is a GOD thing to see how his life has changed. He talks about playing in the Super Bowl and returning home to his friends, and having the nice sports car, nice jewelry, flying all across the country, but was EMPTY on the inside. One night with his "dream BREAKER" friends, they walked out onto a street, and he heard gun shots. That night he held his dead cousin in his arms. In the middle of the street, he asked God to change the man he was. As big as a man he was, he needed more.

Luke 8:36
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Here is Devin Wyman's testimony on the back of his card:
"I grew up in the #1 murder capital with my mom raising four boys by herself. The first time I met my father was to bury him. My mom was a praying mom. I knew of God and I would pray all the time but something was missing. I was hard headed and lost scholarships, then I got a second chance and went to the Superbowl. Yet I was still empty. A great man encouraged me and I invited Jesus Christ inot my heart. That day I learned I can't change my past but I can change my future. I realized I was missing a relationship with my Lord and Savior. You too can have such a relationship that can change your future. It's free for the asking."

Isn't that how we all are??
Wretched.
Sinful.
In need of something more.
Praise God.
He is here.
We just need to ask.

Nearly 2

and trying HARD to gain independence.......

My child is nearly 2 and thinks she owns the house.

Who told her she was nearly 2 and to start trying my patience??

She loves to yell in stores "I want that."

Over, and Over again.....

She won't let you help her do anything.

She proceeds to say "My do that."

And even through it all

I still love her ever so much!!!

To my nearly 2 year old,
why is it at times I want you to be BIGGER,
maybe so you could dress yourself, comb your hair, feed yourself, or go on the potty,
but seeing you grow up and get BIGGER right before my eyes,
makes me want to hold on to you at this age and pray to God to be able to remember you at this age and never forget,
but no matter what you will always be
my baby girl.
