Kylee's Art Party

We celebrated Kylee's 6th Birthday on Saturday, with an Art Party. It was a fun party!!

Invitations

Back

I set up everything outside, and it was a pretty nice day, but the wind blew a few times pretty hard, and stuff had to be moved around, but it still was cute!

The snack table.

Rainbow Cake, Kettle Corn, Rainbow Cookies, Oreo Balls, and Pretzels sticks

We had side walk chalk to create with too!

The art tables to paint their canvas! I bought 8x10 canvases from Michaels for $1 each, and then drew a heart on them. We painted around the heart first, which was more difficult getting all the edges painted, but they actually did really good, and then they came back later and painted the heart whatever color they wanted. Then they wrote their name on them, and we sprayed them with glitter spray paint! They turned out pretty!!

Everyone had their own brushes, and water cup, and paint palette, and apron.

All the girls painting.

Then we ate hot dogs in our cute little baskets!

And of course acted silly!

Drew with Side Walk chalk

Cake

Ice Cream

Then the girls finished the inside of their heart!

All Done!

And Jason helped Maggie finish hers..... Ha!

Birthday Girl

Kylee is 6 today. Impossible. Unbelievable.

She opened her presents from us, and then we were nearly late to school because she wanted to "open" the presents.

Took her lunch today at school. It was our first time to do that. And she got a birthday crown and a star sticker, and her class had eaten the Halfmann's cookies that she took for her birthday!

And look what second grader joined us for a few minutes!!

Walking to recess! :)

Lego Mania

We are deep into lego building these days. Mimi graciously gave us her huge box of the tiny legos! Long in the past are the duplos :(

It really is a love-hate relationship. Jaxon and Kylee can build for a good hour with them, BUT they get everywhere! So, we keep them around.....

Kylee built an office with a window, and a door, and lots of other things she told me about!

Tried and Failed

For 1 1/2 hours, I put on these Jamberry school spirit nails on Addi and Kylee. They were super cute!! And I was really hopeful....

But, both the girls lost half of theirs the first 3 hours. And I followed the directions.

I must be doing something wrong!!

First Homecoming - 2014

Kylee's school had their homecoming festivities this past week! The days were kind of hard to dress up to, during the week. But we mustered something together for Flashback Friday! Kylee doesn't have a cheerleading suit that fits her right now, so I painted her some old jeans that had holes in them to wear on Friday. And ironed her a shirt together real quick on Thursday!
Her jeans said Peace, Love, Hawks, and her shirt said Hawks!

Polka dots on the back!

The kindergarten finally got to go to their first pep rally of the year! She's been anxiously waiting!

That evening, Paw-paw bought us a hamburger at the game, and we actually stayed pretty late! I guess the kids are getting older, and they can run around on the fence and talk to Wally! Jason actually took Maggie home after half time because she was falling asleep, but we stayed close to the end!

And Jaxon had gotten himself pretty excited by the time we left wrapping streamers around his body acting like Hulk!

It was a fun day!

Snaggle Tooth

Kylee lost her FIRST tooth last night!!! I can't believe it!! It's really all just happened so fast!! On Monday, she came home saying it was loose, and it was really loose. Then last night, it was barely just hanging on, but she wouldn't let me or Jason near it! Ha! Finally, she was wiggling it, and said "I just heard a pop!" A few minutes later after she got the root loose, Jason pretty much head-locked her and just pulled it out!!

Can you tell those eyes are a little red? How can she bring so MUCH drama to everything, lately? Wow! I also think her personality does not handle change well. And she did not like this tooth feeling loose and hurting.

But, after the fact, she was all smiles!!

She immediately called Mimi and Uncle Josh and Melissa to tell them the news, and we texted the picture to everyone else!!

And the TOOTH FAIRY came!! :) She actually woke up to go to school on her own!!

My Girl

Kylee has had a lot of new things going on these past 3 weeks, and she's about to turn 6!! With an Art Party in the works! How can she possibly be this old?

Finally, she has started the Sparks group at AWANA's this year, after being in Cubbies for 3 YEARS! Ha! That September birthday will get ya.

She's a "frozen" butterfly is what she told me.

On Friday, she rode the bus home to my parents for the FIRST time. And no I wasn't purposely in front of the bus. Addi and Karter rode too, and she said Karter crawled under the seats. :)

We went to her Open House on Monday Night, where Jason carried Maggie around by her feet, and Jaxon screamed really loud because he wanted a chick-fil-a sandwich and we wouldn't let him have one. Other than that, it was fun to see Kylee in her little school environment, showing us around everywhere, and talking, just talking to her classmates. It was pretty cute! Her teacher bragged on her a lot, and she showed us some of her work.

She also got to go to town with Jasons' mom on Sunday to pick out her birthday present. She wanted a bow and arrow from Academy, but Mimi didn't stop there. She went to Claire's, Dillards, and back to Claire's. She ended up with a Olaf shirt, and a frozen necklace and bracelet. She was super excited to wear it to school on Tuesday!

The BIGGEST news of all, this tooth is barely hanging on!! Can't believe she has a loose tooth! And she's not near as happy about it as she looks! I mean I think she's happy, but not so much with it hurting and being bothersome.

I'll let you know when the tooth fairy will be paying her a visit!

Two little cats sitting in their cages! Or at least that's what they told me!

Weekend

Our weekend was kind of eventful, but the weather was so dreary and gloomy, it seems we just laid around.

On Friday, Maggie and I went to some shops, and I ended up in Trendy Trunk, upscale resale. They had some cute stuff in there; I got this outfit for Maggie, and a couple of Nike T-shirts for Jaxon.

She actually got to wear it on Sunday for church because the weather was colder. Jason said it was to big on her (its a 24 month), and Popsie thought it looked like pajamas. Maybe it wasn't a win after all. :)

On Friday Night, we ventured to Olive Garden with just us, since I had gotten a couple of gift cards for my birthday. And Kylee and I love this place!

We had family and some extended family pictures taken on Sunday by my friend Wendy. I gathered some props from my Grandmother's house. I think they are going to be some cute ones!

But, an hour before we had pictures made, Jason got stung by a wasp on the NOSE! Ha!! He thought it was going to swell really bad, but his mom had some magic ointment, and it helped a lot!

We managed to squeeze in a birthday party at the park, the Cowboys football game, a good bowl of chili at Brianne's house, and our newest addition to the friend club, Jensen was born! It was a great weekend!

New (to us) Equipment

The guys went to Lamesa twice this week. Once to look at the equipment, and a day later to go back and get the new equipment!

This is a boll buggy! I think Melissa and I are now hired to work, what looks like to a long cotton harvest year. They were already wanting to hire Jaxon to work the module builder, and while seriously discussing this, they decided he could do it, but just would get bored. Really! These are the real conversations that take place around here! Ha!

And a new 8-row stripper, without the header on it. When we pulled up in the car to check out the new equipment, Jaxon said "that looks pretty nice!"

That sweet, farm boy cracks me up!
