Our Weekend

We had a great Father's Day weekend! Kylee enjoyed handing her 2 Grandads, and Daddy, their gifts throughout the day.
I caught Kylee and Jason doing this Saturday afternoon... Nothing like swimming naked in the country..... :) A little daddy, daughter time!!

Saturday evening we had Addi and Karter over, so Brianne and Duane could go out for their anniversary!! We did alot more swimming!!
And Sliding!!

And annoying the kids with the water hose!!

And pouring!!

And running to get more toys!!

And jumping from one pool to

the other....

And I saw a lot of this.....

And then we ended with a brother-sister water fight!!!

This morning, mom and I took all 3 kids to town, because I needed to run some errands, and so did she, so we went together!!
BAD IDEA!!!
Not real bad, but we were outnumbered!! And had aLOT of places to go!! Bad combination!!
We made it though!!
Tomorrow, we are planning on taking a small vacation to San Antonio. That is plan; we will see if we actually take off and leave tomorrow!! If we do, we will be gone a couple nights, so I won't be back until Thursay night!!
I did manage to go to CVS this morning, and get some great deals there, and received credit at Target for my Scrubbing Bubbles item I bought last week!!

Friday Fun Finds of the Week 3

This week was interesting!! Seems like there were alot of good store coupons to use at Target with some good manufactuers coupons!! Which is always fun to go get the deals, but is always a challenge!!
I don't have a picture of my deal from Walgreens, but this is what I did.
Buy 2 Reach Toothbrushes, priced $4.49 each= $8.98
- use 2 coupons for $1.00 off Reach toothbrush
-use Walgreens in ad coupon for $3.00 off each Reach toothbrush
Total: $.49 each = $.98, Savings of 90%
Target Trip pictured below

OKAY, IF YOU STOP RIGHT THERE MY TOTAL IS NOT TO BAD!!

I also tried this deal:
Buy Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel $3.94
Buy Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Refill, 12 ct $3.94
Use Coupon for Free Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Starter or Refill (max value $7), when you buy Toilet Cleaning Gel
And use Coupon for Free Scrubbing Bubbles Fresh Brush Refills, 12 ct, when you buy Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel, Target Coupon
Final Price: both Free
That didn't work.
They charged me for the $3.94 gel which I guess is fine, but they also charged me for $6.29 Fresh Brush Starter.
So, if you take out the Starter in my picture above, my savings wouldn't have been to bad.
My theory is they scanned the Fresh Brush Starter before they scanned the SB Gel. Don't know if I am correct on that or not.
I think I am going to take my few items in the bag with a coupon and a description of how the coupons should work, and ask if they can take off the $6.29.
If not, I may return the item, and wait for a different sale.
Other Couponing Topics:
Does anyone have a problem with stores being able to scan a folded Manufactuers coupon?
I received my P&G Sampler in the mail. I was a little disappointed. I received a sample of the new Pampers diapers, SIZE 5!! We don't fit into a size 5. And I don't think that is a popular size, which is probably why they sent it. Also, there were 2 coupons for paper towels, but not as high as I thought they might be. Have any of you received your sampler?
I am curious to try a prescription Nasonex coupon. I found one for $15 off, and you can print it once every 30 days. If this works, it could mean major savings because we refill every month!! Have any of you ever had luck using a coupon on prescriptions?

US Army Apache Helicopter 101

A US Army Apache Training Helicopter had to do an emergency landing in the field across from my parents house. It was coming in to Fort Hood from California on Sunday evening, and the two pilots smelt something, and decided they were going to have to land. One of the generators went out on it.
My parents, and Brianne, and the kids, and several other neighbors went out there Sunday evening and got to talk to the 2 pilots. Mom said they were really friendly.

At midnight, they landed a Transportation Helicopter that picked up the 2 pilots, and dropped off 3 others, to guard the helicopter, until they could fly a part in to fix it.

So, on Monday morning, Kylee and I went over, and it seemed like the "word" was getting around Wall and several other parents were bringing the kids out to look at it.
Here we are with the helicopter. I ended up having to drive one of the Army guys to the convience store in Wall, and he told me alot about the helicopter. Because what else were we going to talk about.
It only holds 2 pilots, one in front of the other. The one in front is the shooter, and the one in back drives.
Talk about TRUST!!

Here is the big gun underneath!!

The other cool thing is that it was coming from California and was in the filming of the

NEW TRANSFORMERS MOVIE!!

Around 5 on Monday, they ended up getting it fixed and flying away. We all waved bye!!

"Dumb Parents" Award

There are so many times in the past 20 months of our lives that I felt like we could have received the "Dumb Parent" Award, or worse the "Dumb Mom" Award.
It's all out of good. Sometimes when things happen we just look at each other and go, what do you think we should do? It's in the not knowing that is scary. But that is why we just are clinging to the wisdom from God's Word and Him, to guide us. Not our earthly wisdom.
We've looked at each other several times and said that over the past 20 months, whether it be immuizations, discipline, bed times, food, or something else. There are millions of little decisions that cross our minds everyday concerning........
Kylee.
So, this is where we went last night at 8:30....

It never was real bad, but Kylee fell and hit her eye on the edge of the coffee table, and it cut her eyebrow open. It didn't bleed real bad or anything, but Jason was worried that it might leave a scar if they didn't glue it shut.
And his exact words, "I don't want it to scar because she's a girl." How sweet is that!!
So, we are the dumb parents that took her to the emergency room, and all they did was put neosporin on it, and a patch.
Dumb Parents Award??? Like I said, if it was concerning you, you wouldn't worry about anything, but when it is your child, everything is different!!

Now we call her Patchy!! :)

Friday Fun Finds of the Week, Week 2

WHEW!!! I am barely getting this Friday Finds of the week in!! I haven't been to town this week, and Jason and I went together tonight. He laughed at me, and walked off when I was presenting all my coupons to the Target and Walmart cashiers!! :)

I asked if he was embarrassed of me, and he said no. He is happy, and hoping we are saving a little money along the way. Don't get me wrong, I still think he thinks it is a waste of time.
Well, on to the coupons, so I can quit wasting your time, and mine!! :)
All in the picture - $12.39, Originally Priced $38.48

Huggies Diapers, Priced $8.99, with Coupon, $5.24

Huggies Wipes, Priced $5.99, with Coupon, $3.24

Scrubbing Bubbles Starter, Priced $6.99, with coupon FREE with $1.01 OVERAGE

Scrubbing Bubbles Refill, Priced $3.94, with coupn FREE

2 Old Spice Deodarants, Priced $3.99 Each, with coupon $3.99 for BOTH

Poise Pads, Priced $4.59, with coupon $.59

TOTAL: $13.06 - $1.01= $12.05 plus tax, $12.39

So, that is exciting!! Yes, I already did buy the Scrubbing Bubbles Starter, but it is FREE with the coupons, so I thought might as well get it, and the Refill, because I will eventually need it, especially if I would get in there and clean those bathrooms!! :) AND, SC Johnson and Company has a $5 rebate when you buy 3 items right now.

Then we went to Wal-mart, and I only saved about $5 but they don't have store coupons there. But, I was really upset because I found out that the lady didn't scan 2 of my coupons, and one of them was for $2.00 off!!

So, from now on, I will watch extra careful!!

Happy Friday!!

Nothing like swimming with the cows...

Well, technically not "with" the cows, but with the cows watching you!!
Seriously, how country can you get!! :)

I don't think they mind!! In fact, they like to hear the cows "beller".
Here's what the "fiasco" playground looks like at mom and dad's!!
Kylee yells "water" when we drive up every time now!! She wants to go swimming all the time!!

Karter is a wild man in the pool!! I think Kylee was scared of him.... heheehehe

She can actually touch the bottom, and with these floaties I think she really likes the freedom of walking around without one of us holding her.

Howdy!!

We haven't been up to much this week. We might go to San Antonio in a couple of weeks for a little vacation before I get to far along, and I have been pricing some hotels on the Riverwalk. Have any of you stayed recently on the Riverwalk? Any suggestions?
Couponing has been real active for me this week. I have discovered that unlike some people who buy stuff just because they have the coupon for it, I am the opposite. Every time I go to town I just buy diapers and wipes because those are my "good" coupons. We don't have any of the normal groceries we need. :) YIKES!! So, I think I will try to go to HEB tomorrow sometime. I did buy 4 boxes of Granola Bars at Target yesterday!! :)
Jason says "howdy" instead of saying Hi to people; same way when he answers the phone. Well, guess who, he has saying it now!!!
YEP!!

Kylee says "howdy", and it is really cute!! I need to try to video it!!
This is what Kylee does while I get ready; she enjoys pulling on the strings of my shirts, and looking at my shoes.
The other day she brought a book to read, and this is what she did when I asked to take her picture.

But then Mama made her laugh and she was over it!!

Look how "LIGHT" her hair looks in this picture!!
