Our weekend was good. Father's Day was good.
We both have great fathers who we both adore. Jason thinks so highly of his father; he hangs on his every word for advice about farming, Bible questions, and just life in general. Before Jason proposed to me, he was out in the filed stripping cotton one day and he was alone with his dad in the truck, and he asked him if he thought he should marry me. That's a lot of trust in your dad to give you the right and honest answer! Love watching their relationship!
No wonder Jason is the greatest Dad to our kids. I don't know how to put it. He is so involved. I mean we all have to have down time after work or when we get home, just a breather, but he does not do that. He doesn't isolate himself away from us. He lays right in the middle of what they are doing. Or fixes something that was broken, or helps with supper, or mows the grass, or goes on a bike ride, or swims with the kids, or takes the kids to look at rain gauges.
Or makes milk shakes while letting Maggie push the button even though sometimes the lid is not on! ;)
And he really saved the weekend with buying the kids this "real" 4-wheeler!! After our flopped buys of the other 4-wheeler back in May and now a friend from church said he wanted to sell his, Jason jumped on the opportunity.
They are so excited!!
