Chicago Bound

We found out on Saturday that Jason's sister, Haley, will be attending college in Chicago. She got accepted to the Moody Bible Institute. We are really excited for her. I know that his parents are excited, but at the same time sad because that is a long way away. She is exteremely thrilled; she really wanted to get in. For the application process, she had to write 5 essays over certain topics they assign; it was a long process. So yeah for HALEY!!

My friend Shaunna posted a CrockPot recipe exchange. So if you know a good CrockPot recipe feel free to post it.
I have enjoyed reading the recipes. Here mine is.
Beef Stew
3-4 potatoes
baby carrots
yellow onion
beef stew meat
beef stew seasioning mix
Peel and cut potatoes into medium size chunks. I usually throw about half the bag of baby carrots in. Dice up 1/2 of a yellow onion. Put all into the crockpot. Flour the beef stew meat and then brown in a tablespoon of grese. Once browned, put into the crockpot. Add the seasoning mix, and fill with water to where it covers everything. Stir and cook on low for about 8 hours.
I have made this twice, and it has turned about really good, and it is really easy. Jason and his brother are really picky eaters, and they both like it.

On Saturday, a bunch of girls from high school got together with all of our growing families now. We ate at Olive Garden and then went out to Matt and Lindsey's house in Eola. It was a lot of fun, and really good to see everyone.

All the girls from high school!! There were 9 of us!!

Skylar and her boyfriend, Jerry

Cameron and Amy Holifield. And they have a little girl D'Laney!!

This is Maddie. She belongs to my friend Marlayna and her husband Firefighter Josh.

Max Lucado's 3:16

For Christmas, I got the Max Lucado 3:16 book. I was curious of how you can write a whole book over just one verse in the Bible. I am not very far into the book, but it is really good. And it amazes me how you can write a book over this one verse because of how much it holds. I once heard a sermon preached on this one verse, and he talked about how in his opinion this was the greatest verse in the Bible because this single verse holds the GREATEST things.

"For God" --> He is the greatest there ever was, is, and will be.

"so loved" --> But the greatest of these is love 1 Corn 13:13

"the world" --> There is no object, no being greater than the world.

I can't remember how this preacher related the rest of the verse to the greatest, but you get the point. I am thinking I am going to like the rest of the book. But we must still remember where this verse first came from, the Bible.

Has anyone else out there read it or heard anything about it?

AMERICAN GLADIATORS

Since everyone has been posting about TV shows they like (MAINLY CHELSEY), I will share as well. I love American Gladiators. I am so excited that it has come back on. Brianne and I would watch it growing up, and we really enjoyed it. I guess seeing it now reminds me of that, and Jason really likes it as well. I always root for the Contenders, and some of their stories make me want to cry. But they do not have the challenge with the hudge balls that you had to run into the gladiators. I don't know the name of that one. But they do have some good challenges still:

Joust
Power Ball
Eliminator
Pyramid
Wall
Hang Tough

So we are really excited about AMERICAN GLADIATORS!!!

Here are some great action photos from the first night:

This Gladiator scares me!!

This was the contender I wanted to win, but she didn't!! She busted her nose in the Eliminator challenge and finished anyways with blood running down her face. Isn't it awesome!!

My Gluteus Maximus is SORE :)
Yes, on Friday, I went to a PE workshop with all the other PE teachers around the area. And we had to participate in the games that were being demonstrated. It was just all normal PE games that my kids do everyday. But oh man, I woke up Saturday and I was sore all over. My right arm was sore from throwing balls, my quads, my back muscles, and my butt, like I previously mentioned. Sunday was such a beautiful day outside that I went and ran a mile. It was so hard; I know I ran extremely slow. So guess what, I am sore again today.
But yeah for being sore, because that means working out actually did some good!!

Where did the time go?

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I have not posted in what seems like forever. I rarely had time to post and then when I did think about posting, I just knew it would take forever because my computer at home is kind of slow.

ANYWAYS, Jason and I had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. I could not have asked for anything more, but to be with him and our families during the holidays. What a blessing it was!!! Many guys at Christmas were asking for the new XBOX, Wii, or any other new game. Jason asked for a NES, which is the very first Nintendo that came out. So sure enough his sister found one for him, and that was probably his favorite gift. He has been enjoying playing all the Super Mario Bro.s games. I kind of like it too.

Here are some pictures from harvesting:

Enjoy!!!
