1K

Kylee did her first race this past Saturday! And she loved it!

She's been asking to go run in a race for a while now. But, it's been kind of chilly.

Every time Jason or I go run at home, she asks to run with us. We run to far for her to keep up, but then usually later we will let her jog down the road with all of us. Uncle Josh ran with her several times around Jason's parents house and barn; it's about a 1/4 mile. So she likes to do that with him!

Anyways, I told her I was going to go do a run, if she wanted to come along and do the 1K ( .6 of a mile). So, my mom came with, and she really liked it!! And is already ready for another one!! :)

I told her to just get a feel for what goes on at a race, and if she has to walk some that is good to. She took off faster than mom, so mom told her to go on, and to turn around at the orange cone. Well mom looks up, and she had kept going past the cone, and mom started yelling at her to turn around, and finally she heard her, but Mom was just scared she was going to have to keep going and run the whole 5K! Ha! They finished, and she wanted to know what place she got (if she's not me made over :). While they were waiting on me to get finished, she went and did the 1K again; both times without stopping!
She loved getting her number pinned on too!!

And the other little ones, running at home one night last week!! Shoe less!!

St. Patty's Day

We had a fun St. Patrick's Day, although my children don't know what it is about, and we don't focus a lot on it! I asked Kylee if she wanted to wear green because today was a day to wear green on. She asked "why" and I didn't feeling like explaining, so she decided not to!!

All four of us went to the dentist check-ups, and then to run a few errands and to play at a new park we have never been too before!! Fun day!! The weather is beautiful!

Projects

Since the past few months we have wanted to move in, there are a few positives, like getting some projects done that I've had in mind.

I've wanted a big chalkboard, with stained trim. So, I found a tutorial on Shanty-2-chic. I wanted mine bigger, so I bought a bigger chalkboard from Hobby Lobby for $8. The first one he made wasn't lined up quite perfect, so he wanted to re-do it, and in the process broke the chalkboard, so I went back and bought another one! He managed to salvage the chalkboard, and made a smaller one with white trim!

I had seen some distressed bigger frames that I was interested in, sort of like this. So all I did was buy the frame for the inside and cut some boards for the larger piece. They are ok. I think my color choices were poor! :)

I love the way this one turned out; I made a clip board to display the kids artwork! Lemongrass with glaze on it!

I've stared at this antique window thinking I wanted to do some sort of "wall hanging" with it. Still thinking?

State

Wall girls made it to state in basketball, and the tournament was this past weekend! And they WON!! First time ever!!

Glad we were there to cheer them on! The girls and I, and Karter, went with my parents.

Kylee's first trip to the DRUM! Decked out in the cheerleading suit and all!

The girls played at 8:30AM on Friday, and not again until 1:30 on Saturday. So we had a full day to just hang out in Austin!

What better place to start with than the Capital of Texas! So pretty!

Inside the Senate Chamber and looking up!

We shopped some at the outlets, IKEA, a furniture store, Garden Ridge, Old Navy, and a shoe store!

Saturday morning we had to kill some more time, so we went to this really cool museum that was downtime. They had all these historical facts about Texas. Kylee and Maggie wanted to take a picture by the old gun because Daddy likes guns! :) And a pretty butterfly.

They also had this "Extreme Mammals" exhibit. So we went through that. Y'all I was so disappointed. I was thinking "I need to get my children out". People were everywhere reading this posters and looking at these animals that "supposedly" existed "millions" of years ago that were founded by Darwin, of course.

I don't want to get in a debate about the existence of animals before the flood, or what types of HUGE animals those could have been, but it just rubbed me the wrong way with the wording of it all.

Anyways, after that we hooked it to the DRUM for day two, the finals, and they WON! How exciting!

Drove back as fast as we could to see Aunt Hay Hay who is only here for 4 days!

What happened to Jaxon?

Seriously! When did he get to "cool" to smile for the camera? Like he won't smile any when I say I am going to take a picture.

I don't like it! :(
