Climbing

It's official Kylee has learned to climb. She hikes her little leg up and grunts and pulls until she gets as high as she wants to go!!

Well this chair isn't very high, but here is she!!

Excited she got herself in it!!

Where's Waldo??? or Kylee????

Kylee's little developing personality puts her right in the MIDDLE of whatever is going on!!
We had a blast at Karter's party on Saturday. Kylee was so excited (which is an understatement) to see all these BIG kids at his party she could hardly contain herself. She went from Karter's room to Addi's room and back and forth with a toy; she was so prould of herself thinking she was a BIG kid.
Whether we were opening gifts, riding the horse, eating cake, playing outside, swimming.....whenever I looked up Kylee was right in the middle hence the Post Title of Where's Waldo???

I mentioned I was going to make cupcakes and a little cake for Karter. You can check them out here: Brianne

The Learning Process....

I gave Kylee a sippy-cup today for the first time. She looked at it for a little bit, and then I think she realized there was juice in there, and she would really like some of that, so here she is figuring it out.

Not a whole lot going on here!! Karter's birthday party is tomorrow. I am making cupcakes and then on a "whim" I decided to make a little 6 inch round cake for him. If everything turns out to be trash, then you will not be seeing any pictures....of the cakes that is. Hopefully we can get some of the party.

Jason has been busy plowing all week, so I have been hanging around the house, and cleaning a little bit today. Mom should be landing anytime now from Houston. Yay!! oh yeah, I made a banner for Karter's party as well. I think it turned out okay seeing as on Tuesday was when I decided to do it. Mom gave me all the directions before she left, and I finished the other day.

This is the only place I could find to hang it for my picture. :) I think I might add a button in between each banner. It has puppy dogs on it.

a BIG mess and more about our little munchkin....

a couple of weeks ago, i came to the kitchen to see what kylee was doing. i think you can tell what she was up to. she was enjoying eating some rice krispies off of the floor.

last week in the nursery at church, by the way she LOVES playing with the BIG kids. if they bang on something, she bangs on something. if they are on the top of the slide. well she thinks she should be on the top of the slide. you get my drift. back to my story. last week she could only make it about half way climbing up the BIG pink slide in the nursery. well today she was determined to make it to the top. i got this picture of her at the top. now i have to worry about her falling off the top, but i think we will survive.

this is the little slide in the nursery, and Aunt Bri taught her how to climb up the side of it all by herself (she uses her knees), and then she likes to stand on the very edge of the top of this slide. she hasn't quite figured out how to sit down up there.

ZOOM!! going down the little slide

and last but not least. here she is laughing at Aunt Bri's ornery little fixing to be 2 year old boy....

okay.... onto other BIG news!!

we have stopped feeding her in the night about 2 weeks ago, and i have failed to mention how that is going..... remember dr. patyrak said there would be "weeping and gnashing of teeth". well it isn't that bad when you shut your door you can't hear very much!! i know....we really aren't bad parents, but we knew she was perfectly fine. the first 3 nights, she woke up crying, so jason went in there and changed her diaper, and put her back and she cried for about 45 minutes. but then she slept 3 nights in a row without waking up at all. but now for about the past week she has woken up and cried, but we just don't go in there. which leads me to my next point....

GIVE us a T-BONE steak because we have FINALLY cut 2 TEETH!!!

yes, we have. and i think that could be why she was waking up. but we are just so excited we finally have teeth. they are barely coming through. i can feel them, but there is no possible way i can get a picture of those without a keeping/screaming/hysterical moment (can you tell i've tried) :), so we will have to wait a little on a picture.

that's all the BIG news i have about kylee right now. enjoy the rest of your sunday.

Finished Projects and Future Projects

Finished Projects

Sign to hang in Addi and Karter's New "Sea" Bathroom.

Karter's Quilt for his Big Boy Bed!!

Mom had a lady in town machine quilt the design on it. I think it turned out really cute.

The works are starting to be in order for Kylee a quilt. It takes a long time to find all the fabrics that match the room. Mom is always on the look out for fabrics that match!!

Future Project

I was at Hancocks the other day, and they were having a really big sale!! LOOK at this fabric. It has little birds on it, for Kylee Bird. It is a flannel, but I thought I could make a blanket for her for the winter. And then they had the pink check on sale as well!! Yeah!!

4th of July Picture Parade

We had a great 4th!! Here is a picture overload!!
Kylee and Paw-Paw preparing the float for the parade!!

GG (Great-Grandmother) sitting on the right with our sign on the back of our float!! If you live in or near the parade, you know the wind was blowing so terrible!! But our sign didn't tear anywhere.

We went swimming at the lake; then hung around and watched the fireworks show. It was great!!

Mom and Dad with all the grandkids. This is the best out of all the pictures we took. Everyone was very tired.

Happy Independence Day!!!

the 4th of july is such a fun holiday with great plans. spending time with family from out of town. going to the lake. eating lots of yummy food. including watermelon and homemade ice cream. and homemade apple pie. decorating the float for the parade in your hometown. getting teary eyed duringthe playing of "I'm Proud to be an American". swimming. laughing with old friends. watching fireworks.

what a great way to honor our country and the freedoms we have.

someone recently said they feel our country is forgetting what it means to be an American, and how we became a free nation. and we are slowly, generation by generation, losing what it truly means to proud of the united states of america. i could not agree more. this is a scary thing.

so i pledge that i will never forget. i will teach kylee to stand and to put her hand on her heart. tell her about her great-grandfathers who fought for our freedom. to have pride in our hearts for our land. to respect the flag. and that it's a privilege to live in AMERICA.

happy independence day from our "American" hearts to yours!!
